All our lives amount to illusion only [maya]. All our attachments is an illusion. Family is an illusion. Death is also an illusion. Leading this life is an illusion. Why are you trapped in this illusion? The foolish one having been born in illusion, they grow in illusion, but they do not recognize illusion.

Embodiments of love!

What is this form of illusion? We just make use of this word illusion, but no one knows the form and the nature of illusion. That which is not-existing is illusion. That which is present is also illusion. Why do you search for God hither and thither? Is He not there in your heart? He Himself is illusion! The Universe is illusion. Everything is illusion (Swami: Ekoham bahusyam). It is only one that manifested into many. God has the vesture of illusion. Wearing this vesture of illusion, for the form and the formless aspect to demonstrate, He assumes the form. He also proves the fact, that I am the one that moves and I am also the one, that does not move. God is illusion. God is illusion, meaning that which deludes is illusion.

That which deludes is illusion. This very bhrama - mistaken identity - when once this mistaken identity is gone, you will have the vision of Brahman. Therefore, maya has these three qualities: the pious quality, the emotional quality, and the dullness [satvaguna, rajoguna, and thamoguna]. The world is the very form of these three qualities. There is no world or a being without this three attributes.

That day, when the human being away from the three attributes, he can aspire to be away from illusion. To understand the nature, that is beyond the tree attributes, we have to understand first those attributes. Out of these three attributes come the attachment [moham]. The basis for this attachment, the basis for the attachment is: the love for money, the love for wife and son. These three will make this attachment much more. The moment the attachment to wife, the money, and the son is reduced, that attachment also will be reduced in total, by and large.

The man with all the five sheaths [annamaya, pranamaya, manomaya, vijnanamaya, anandamaya]: the sheath of food, the sheath of life, the sheath of the mind, the sheath of wisdom, and the sheath of bliss. It is only man who can investigate, who can experiment, who can recognize and understand the nature of the sheath of wisdom, so as to reach the state of bliss. However, man is experiencing in this world, encased by three sheaths only: the sheath of food, the sheath of life, and the sheath of mind.

He is not reaching to the point of the sheath of wisdom. This wisdom is not ephemeral, it is not worldly, it is not secular, it is not physical, but it has to be thought over at the level of the heart, so as to blissful.

Man desires happiness. Man has got these three sheaths: the sheath of food, the sheath of life, and the sheath of mind. All these three are towards illusion only. All that is seen by the eye, all that is listened by the ear, all that is thought by the heart, they are all out of this illusion only. Therefore, the world is

very form of illusion. Here lies the dynamic power.

Some aspirants expect, they think, the divinity has a form, while others say it is formless. The rainwater when it is solidified, it will be in the form of ice cubes. But the same rain, rain water in the liquid form, it, it is just a liquid. There is no difference between the ordinary rain water and the ice. Both are same. Therefore, this ice cube stand for illusion. The water within is divinity. Without divinity there is no human life. Without human life, human, human, human quality, this illusion is no value. Without water there is no ice, but water can exist even without ice cubes. So, without divinity illusion cannot exist. Man can never travel leaving his shadow at one place. Impossible! Along with him the shadow follows. Therefore, the magnificent divinity and the illusion are object and the reflection. The spiritual practices are meant to understand the divinity out of this illusion.

How is it possible to change? Though many paths are said, prescribed, they are all worldly illusion only (Swami: Sravanam). The listening is also illusion (Swami: Kirthanam). Singing (Swami: Vishnosmaranam). Thinking of the Lord (Swami: Padasevanam). Service (Swami: Vandanam). Salutations to the Lord (Swami: Archanam). Worship (Swami: Sneham). Friendship (Swami: Atmanivedanam). Surrender. All are the effects of illusion. Who is the one that is doing this listening, singing? Only man. The entire life is illusion. The human life goes on like a drama enacted on this stage.

For his life story and for the divinity, the one that is responsible is God only (Swami: World is a stage). World is a stage (Swami: All are actors). All are actors (Swami: God is director). God is director. Basing on His direction only, each individual undertakes his duties and responsibilities, in his daily life. In the ancient this was developed to a great extent. Earlier, in the entire world, the world population was 100 crores [1 crore = 10,000,000]. The number of the aspirants, the liberated souls was more and more day by day. They made all effort for liberation. They practiced all spiritual paths in different directions to understand the divinity in the daily life.

The daily life is like a water bubble. When and what will happen to this water bubble, the life? And therefore they wanted to know that eternal truth. The world population today has crossed beyond 500 crores. Population has increased, but among people the desire for liberation has gone. What is the reason? The worldly desires are in excess. Investigation about the divinity is no longer existing. What is the reason? The only reason is the modern education system. The modern, the modern educated people, the students, and the patrons of education they struggle for worldly desires.

The first plan of the students is, what will be our status, if we take up this particular course? What course will give them a status later? The educated people they struggled hard only for a living, to earn daily bread. It is not hunger, the stomach that is important. The head and heart too are very important. When these two are not there he is not bothered of his stomach. What is the responsibility of the head? That is the effect of secular education. The effect of all education acquired today in all the business, and the jobs undertaken, and the life, all are related to the head only.

This in vedantic parlance is called pravritti, outward. But, this is just opposed to nivritti or inward. Pravritti means increase in this Vritti or temperament. To make it shine is pravritti. This is prapancha, the world. Prapancha, the world, is that which blossoms or which shines forth the five elements. The five elements are the very form of illusion

In sleep as we dream, we take it true. In the dream we consider all feelings of misery, the happiness, the sorrow, the anxiety. We take them true, but how long that truth lasts? The dream is true until the waking state. The moment you wake up from sleep you neglect your dream. Similarly, we consider it true, all the experiences in this waking state. How far is this true? All these experiences of the waking state are true until we go to sleep. In sleep we forget the waking state, the world.

Therefore, waking state is a day dream, sleep is a night dream. In the dreaming state there is no waking state. In the waking state you don't attach value to the dreaming state. But, however, you are there in both the states: waking and the dreaming states.

Waking state is illusion. Dream is illusion (Swami: You are omnipresent. You are the truth). You are present in both the states. You are omnipresent. You are truth. That is divinity. Therefore, this divinity is seeing within the illusion, that is the world. The nature of illusion? It's a secret! It's very mysterious. It's a history. For everything illusion is responsible. For laughing, to make others cry. Cry and laughter are worldly, not spiritual. The nature of illusion, it increases this mistaken identity more.

This is my money. This is my house. How far it is your house? How far is that your money? When do you have to leave? So, how far is it true, when you say, "This is mine?" You may sell out your house. Then how do you claim, that it is your house? The moment you sell out your house, it is mine. Then you say, "Money is mine, not the house!" You deposit this money in a bank, then money is not yours, checkbook is yours. Therefore, things change. You have to give the checkbook to draw the money. You spend! Then where is the money?

(Swami: Passing clouds is maya) All these things change and change like passing clouds, illusion. All move like clouds. Prior what's about your money? An individual taking 100-rupees note. He was very happy, smiling within himself, "That this is my 100-rupee note." The same 100-rupee note looking at his face smiled, "Oh mad man!" The same 100-rupee note said, "Oh mad man, I have seen so many faces. I'll leave your face also and go to somebody. I will never be permanent with anybody. Never be deluded this 100-rupees note is yours. This change is my quality. This mobility is my nature."

That which moves is illusion. It is not stable at any place. Taking this illusion ??? - to be taken like a feeling that is all true is a sign of ignorance. This ignorance is an illusion. So, ocean is stable without any mobility. This ocean which is immobile, but has the experience of mobility. What is the reason? It is the wind that is responsible. It is the wind that blows, that is responsible. When there is no wind, there will be no waves. Therefore, the feelings within us, they always move. What is that responsible for this movement? It is illusion! The illusion changes day by day. Only one divinity manifested into many. All these forms are of the divine. A small example.

A house owner is there. Son will come and converse, saying, "Father." The daughter-in-law will come and say, "Father-in-law." The wife will come and say, "My dear husband." The grandson will drop in and say, "Grandfather." The mother will come and say, "Oh my dear son." Though people talk, converse in different ways, individual is one. The father, father-in-law, son, husband, grandfather - all just one. Basing on their feelings and the position, they will establish a relationship with God. One call God as Brahma. Someone as Atma. The third one call Him Sakthi. Next Rama, others Krishna, others Jesus, others Allah.

Basing on their faith and feelings they give different names. Religions are different, but the path is one. The cloths are different, but the yarn is same. Jewellery are different, gold is one. The colors of the cows are different, milk is one. The paths are many, God is one. Flowers are different, worship is one.

It is only for a living we are bound, this is illusion. There are no differences in method of worship: jasmine worship, rose worship, the chrysanthemum worship. No, no, no! Whatever flowers you may bring, you must offer to God. Worship is worship.

In this nature we are deluded. Bharathiyas in their spiritual practice they have a sloka (Swami: Ekoham bahusyam). Here in this form of worship, it is clearly understood. There is only one divinity, that manifested into many.

In Ashtotra Satha Namavali the first one is Om Keshavaya namaha, Narayanaya namaha, Vasudevaya namaha, ???. They worship God in several names. ??? there is only one God, we worship Him with several names. One God has thousand odd names. So, many names and so many forms. Though the name and form change in all, in all only one Principle is there. The truth is hidden in this world, behind this falsehood. When once we recognize the fact, that it is all illusion, we don't need to worry.

Prior to marriage, who is the wife and who is the husband? Prior to wedding the same girl had so many sufferings and problems. Is this person bothered? No! Immediately, five minutes after marriage, if the wife complains of stomach ache, this fellow will not take food also. Wherefrom this connection? Prior to that, who is she and who am I? After marriage he says, "She is my wife."

It is only out of attachment comes the grief. So, for pleasure and pain, attachment is the cause. Prior to that ??? This is illusion, that which comes together and gets separated out in between. The combination and separation are the waves ???. The waves of thoughts and aberrations is illusion. It is all the effect of illusion. For this a small example.

This is the daily experience for every individual. You go to pictures. First as you get into the theatre, you see the white, pure screen. It is stable. It doesn't move. But you don't watch the screen, you will be very anxious for the pictures. The moment the picture starts, you will be very, very happy. Then what are these pictures? They are all artificial. The picture comes on the screen, it starts crying. The very actor sits on the chair and watches the crying there. There the actor cries, here on the chair he smiles. Isn't that illusion? The very same actor, there he cries on the screen. Why should he cry on the screen? For money he cries there! So, in the film the actor acts for money and cries. Now, here he received the money, therefore he smiles. But those that watch the film, watching the person, who is crying there, they too start crying. Is it the true one that cries? No, just the picture. Watching that they cry. This is illusion. Meaning the picture is not stable there.

The picture that appears on the screen goes. It is not going once for all. It comes back. It comes and again goes. He is born and he dies. He is born and he dies. It happens repeatedly. However, the screen does not come and it doesn't go. That is truth [sathya]. The screen that is always there. False pictures come and go. However, the screen and picture are not separate. When pictures are there, where is the screen? The screen is within the picture. Without screen you cannot see the picture.

So, the entire Universe is full of illusion. So, therefore that which comes and goes is the picture. The stable divinity is the screen. The picture they ??? neither come ??? nor go, therefore it is illusion. Therefore, this mithya is illusion. That truth, when it is combination with illusion, is illusion. But we should proceed beyond the illusion. When do you reach that State, when you can go beyond that illusion? When we get away these three attachments: the attachment towards money, attachment towards wife, and attachment towards son. Therefore when the attachment is gone it is liberation. Liberation and moksha doesn't fall from sky. It doesn't come out of earth. It doesn't descent from anywhere. When once the ignorance is removed, the word, the word of the veda, is the removal of ignorance, is, is liberation that conferred.

Ignorance is illusion. The basis for illusion are the three attributes. So long these three attributes are there, it is not possible to understand the attributeless divinity. God is beyond attributes.

It is all bliss, all wisdom. He is eternal. He is truth. He has no ??? one ???. Everything is one. Only one that exists, but that manifested into many. How? When you step into a room of all glasses, mirrors, all around. When you stand in the hall of all mirrors, there will be many reflections. The one with awareness, the one within the sheath of wisdom, the one with the sheath of wisdom, will certainly understand that all are his own reflections. Understanding the truth, he will consider the unity in diversity. Then he will remain as the form of truth. They are all my own reflections. The one that reflects, the one that manifests into many is one: G, O, D.

In the same room of mirrors a dog steps in. It will see its own reflections in all mirrors. It will have a feeling: I am different from all those reflections. Then it is fear stricken. The moment there is feeling of diversity, there will be fear. Because of fear, this dog will fall on each reflection. What dog? It is reflection of the very same dog. It tries to hit the reflection. The mirror will be broken to pieces. More the number of pieces of the mirror, more will be the, the number of reflections of the dog. "There is no mirror!" And then it will make a way out of it.

The one who considers that all are His own reflections, the one who feels the oneness of divinity is God. He starts - G, O, D. When he passes through the entrance of the letter 'G' there is oneness. The one who will have, who will have entrance through the other direction 'D', he becomes a dog. The one who considers himself different from the reflection, is a dog. So, the difference between God and dog is: God stands for unity, dog stands for diversity. It is only illusion that cognizes diversity. This illusion is responsible for fear. The one with the feeling of oneness has no fear. When there is no fear there is no illusion - when there is no, this mistaken identity.

They are all the qualities, the attributes. God is beyond the three attributes. Though He is beyond attributes, He is in the attributes also. How? Out of mud we make a pot. But the pots are not naturally born in the mud. There is no pots in the mud. The pots are created, made. That is quality. In the created pot also there is mud. But there is no pot in the mud, but mud is there in the pot. God has no attributes, but God is there within the attributes. So, when in combination with the attributes it will come in a form or have a form. Therefore, the name pot, when there is no form there is no name. The formless, attributeless is the one, that ???. Where there is form there is a name. When once there is name and form [rupa, nama], it is prakrithi or the nature.

All actions with names and forms are related to the head. What are those that relate to the heart? (Swami: Sathya, daya, prema, sahana, sama-drishti) Truth, compassion, love, tolerance, forbearance. They all come out of the heart, that has no form. That is nivritti or inward. Man is living with both the outward and the inward. So, from outward he has to be inward. That is spiritual practice. So long he is alive, if he is just outward, when can he expect to get inward? There is only one obstacle that prevents him form going inward. What is that? That is the mind! The mind is like a dog. It will not allow us to sit. It doesn't allow us to sit at one point. The whole creation is in the mind. It is the mind that is the whole Universe. Therefore, we should understand the nature of the mind in the first instance.

Without control of the mind, he cannot be the manishi or the human being. The one who controls the mind is the true human being. If he allows the mind to its own fancies, he can't be human being. He is just a human being, but he is a cinema human being (Swami: Ma, Ni, Shi: cinema). There are three letters here: Ma, Ni, Shi. Read it in the reverse order: cinema - the one who doesn't control the mind. The one with full control is a true man. So, we should make an effort to control the mind.

Everything lies in the mind. So, mind is responsible for attachment and liberation. When mind is one, everything will be one. We should take this unity, oneness. Bodies are different. Names and forms are different, but the divinity in all is one. When we recognize this truth, we will be able to understand this illusion. So long we don't cognize this truth, we are in illusion. The whole nature is illusion. Attachment is illusion. Family is illusion. Head is illusion. They are born in illusion. Grow in illusion. Foolish people do not understand this illusion. He is born in illusion. He grows in illusion. But we are not making an effort to know that.

You are born in society. You live in society, you end in society. But we are not making an effort to understand the nature of society. What is it they have known? No! Human being meant the one who knows himself. Then only we can call him the knower. By just rubbing the snake on anthill will it ever die? By simply punishing the body, can you overcome the flesh? By simply forsaking the food and drink, can we be jnani? Without knowing himself, how can he understand spirituality? He has to know himself, then he will have true nature. We are thinking, that it is just a human being. No! He is just a human being in form, not actually so.

Will all green birds sing like nightingale? Will all the insects that crawl on the flowers, can they be bees? When will it transform into bee? It was just an insect later becomes bee. If it is a fat as an elephant, can ever a pig be an elephant? No! It is not the form that is important. It is our behavior that is important. Our habits are important. Our discipline is important.

The one with discipline is devotee. The one with manners is man. The one with behavior is boy. The one who realize these three is real human being.
