God is not in a foreign land.

God is present in one's own body.

Sin is not in a distant country.

Sin is in one's own self in the body.

Embodiments of love.

Enmity, friendship, divinity, demonic qualities are present in the same man. Basing on feelings of man only, friendship and enmity start. True enemy is not outside. (Swami: Reflection of inner being) All the enmity noticed outside is in himself which amounts to reflection of the inner being. But man imagines that friends and enemy outside will make him happy or hurt him forgetting the truth. Enmity or demonic nature are not outside. Both are contained in the heart [hridaya] of man. Then who is a true enemy? How is the divinity? That - in the limbs - in the limbs of the body there is society, sangha.

(Swami: Kama, krodha, lobha, moha, mada, maatsarya) They are desire, greed, anger, and all. The society in the body, sangha, and then janga. The sangha, society, has got in it janga, ???. Then in this jangamo, there is linga. That linga stands for atmic nature. It is only the linga of the self that is responsible for the society, sangha, janga in the body, leading to janga of the body. Whether there is sangha the society in the body or not, you can know. It is usual in society one says 'No', while others says 'Yes'. One says 'Yes' and the other one says 'No'. Similarly, in our heart there is society. There one says 'Yes' to the decision, the second one says 'No' to the decision.

Who would say that? For society, sangha, within him action or rejection. This is a living proof. If you decide to do a thing - within comes another proposition, good or bad, that prompt you to do this. Another one within you tells, "Don't do this! Do the other one!" All of them are the reflections that come out of the feelings, sangha, within. Here enmity and friendship are noticed. Who is the first enemy? (Swami: Kamamu, desire) Desire. Who is the second enemy? (Swami: Krodhamu) When the desire is not successful it leads to krodha, anger.

If the desire was successful it leads to greediness, lobha. Failure leads to anger, and success leads to greediness. Both are enemies as well. When we accept both the fourth one is untruth. This enemy, that untruth, it misdirects human life. When - when untruth, asathya, starts, adharma, unrighteousness begins. Enmity, the enmity that begins with desire ends with adharma, unrighteousness.

So said, the enemies are not outside. (Swami: Kama, krodha, lobha, asathya, adharma) So, we have all these five enemies within us: the desire, the anger, the greediness, the untruth and unrighteousness. Today's enemies may be friends later. Friends of today may become enemies later. The enemies outside may change, but the inner enemies will never change any time. Who is the leader of all these enemies? (Swami: Manasu) Mind is the leader of all the enemies within.

So, the one who yields, submits himself to the enemies inside, how does he capture the enemies outside? He is caught within. How can he conquer outer enemies? So, we have to victimize the inner enemies. We should have friendship with the leader of all the enemies. That is mind. The mind wavers in the waking state, dream state, and the deep sleep state. The mind is not steady even for a moment. Accordingly, the other leaders also will make it much more wavering. Though mind is the leader, it is very difficult to subdue it. This - this needs spiritual practice, sadhana.

In earlier days one spiritual practice by name aswamedha was undertaken. What do we mean by horse? That is horse, releasing it, catch hold of that one who take it, fight with him. Ultimately, the horse has to be killed. From the physical point of view it is all yaga or yagna. But that is not that. The significance is hidden, secret and mysterious. What does horse stand for? (Swami: Guramu ???) The horse - the one that helps for our travel. It goes very fast. But, it also has got that wavering nature. Even for a moment it is not steady. The tail, or the leg, or ear, it goes on moving. You see the horse any time, it goes on moving its limbs. Horse is compared with that of the mind. (Swami: Mind) Mind. Mind is, also runs very fast. It also travels. The mental speed is fastest, nothing can excel. The mind that wavers: aswa, horse, wavering. Medha, the mind. Yaga meaning sacrifice. This is aswa-medha-yaga.

Only killing the wavering mind is the significance of aswa-medha-yaga. In this aswamedha there is another meaning. In the world there is a tree by name aswattha. Aswattha tree means: Without the wind blowing, leaves start shaking. Though there are no thoughts, yet mind wavers. This quality of wavering is attributed to the mind. The mind is also like a horse.

In ancient

, ancient rishis did this aswa-medha-yaga, a spiritual practice. Not that they are sending forward a horse. However, the battle is true. What kind of a war? (Swami: Kama, krodha, lobha, moha, mada, maatsarya) All the six enemies like anger, greed are on one side. They are all the leaders. What leaders? They are wicked leaders. The righteous one, virtuous one like the truth, the righteousness, the peace, love are on one side. They make it a football and start playing. The mind! Swami?

They make the mind a sort of a football and play with it. They hit it, and they also hit it. At times good feelings come, another time bad feelings come. There is a war between these two, good and bad. Then who will win ultimately? For the good feelings as God's grace. The wicked people - they have demonic qualities. They don't observe the righteousness and non-righteousness too. Theirs is the leader, intellect. This leader's standing is of no use if you go on hitting like this.

He said, "On both sides we should observe some regulations. The football players know on either side there will be limits. If you go towards the centre it is a goal, beyond the limits it is out. Similarly, those with good feelings - that is the decision of the intellect. They started playing. What are those limits' name?

To live happily - one is the worldly knowledge, the other one is spiritual knowledge, limits. This mind should travel towards the centre. When it goes towards the centre, it will be goal. But, how to reach the goal the wicked people don't know. Many football players know. The football players, they go on hitting the ball. They don't realize the centre whether their partner is there, on other side or not. Whatever comes to their feet, they go on hitting it. It is not a good procedure.

We should hand over the ball to our partner there on other side. He should pass on the ball to the one close to the goal. Then he will hit towards the goal. Today in the plays no such regulation. They will all be towards the centre today, go on hitting and make a lot of fuss. No one will be there towards the goal.

But towards good people near the goal, two will be there. They don't move wherever the ball goes. They don't go anywhere, others should pass the ball. This is the procedure of the game. Dharma, righteousness, sathya, the truth, are near the Goal. The moment it is near, immediately they will kick it towards the Goal. So they mutually depend, mutually coordinate.

On the foundations of truth, sathya, the dharma is built. Truth does not change. The righteousness may change. For righteousness it is only the truth that is the foundation, nothing else. Only the feelings of truth are the true friends. The bad qualities like anger, the lust, the greed are hurt

like enemies. There is no use in making effort to kill the outer enemies. So, the first enemy is desire. We should control the power [ichcha sakthi

]. This is control.

Surrender all your desires to God. (Swami: Good or bad) Good or bad. Whatever will happen you surrender to Him. He will make it good. How? A hundred Rupee note - this hundred Rupee note is old, dirty, torn. You don't feel like touching it. If you pass it on to anybody, nobody would accept. But if you surrender this torn out, old note, submit it at Reserve Bank, they will give you brand new.

The chairman of the Reserve Bank is God. You give your all feelings, good and bad. He will give you good only. It may be bad unto you, but He will make it good. Even if you have bad feelings - surrender them to the Lord. (Swami: Dehamu) The body, (Swami: Manasu) mind, (Swami: Buddhi) intellect, (Swami: Chitthamu) ???, (Swami: Indriyamu) ??? senses, (Swami: Anthahkarana) inner instruments are all the gifts of God. Such gifts must be passed on to Him, surrendered to Him. What great devotees do.

Oh God! That heart You have gifted me - I give it to You that sacred heart You have gifted me earlier. I give it to You. What else I bring to worship Your lotus feet? I salute, I do namaskar to Your feet. Please accept it. I offer unto You. Accept, God! The heart that You have given - that also gifted by You. The very same heart I offer unto You, o Lord! Other than this - to worship Your lotus feet - what else I bring? I don't have anything with me. I only pay obeisance, offering to You. Please accept! This is the correct path.

When everything is surrendered unto the Lord, there is no scope for either badness or wickedness either. Here is gold with lot of dirt. Because gold has got dirt, will you throw it out? Put it in the fire, melt it. You put it in the fire, melt it, get away from the dirt and make use of it - purify. When once the dirt is removed it (c: the gold) becomes sacred. Similarly, the mind has got dirt with it. When once you surrender it to the Lord, He will remove the dirt. He will take care of it.

The aspirants follow peculiar paths today. They take gold to a goldsmith. They say, "Sir! I want a chain to adorn my neck." The goldsmith will ask, "What design? How much of gold you are giving?" He will say, "This gold is two tolas

. Take this. Take the design of the chain." The goldsmith will say, "I will get it ready by next week."

But - but the one that placed that order will have all doubts. In full faith - how can I give the two tolas of gold? Without giving - how does he make chain? He ordered for the chain, but he is not giving gold. That is the mind you should surrender. Then only he will do it. At times they give gold, "Sir! The gold I have given - don't put it in fire, don't hammer it, don't expand it, don't correct, but make the chain."

How can he make it? When once you - when once you give it to the goldsmith - give it. The goldsmith may do whatever he likes. He may put it in fire, he may hammer it, he may cut it to pieces, but you need the chain ultimately. If he does not process it - how can he give you the chain?

Today - what aspirants do is, "Oh God! I give my mind. Don't put it into difficulties. Don't give any troubles. Don't hammer it. Give me the peacefully, blissfully, that liberation.

Surrender the mind! He will give you the jewellery of truth, peace and bliss.

Because, aspirants today - they have such stipulations, therefore they face troubles. They are not able to catch hold - or to hold on to the divinity on hand. To have it - you get it out of luck, fortune. You should make every effort to preserve and sustain the divinity. You don't need to have any regulation. That which is attached to the stipulation is just temporary.

You go to a shopkeeper. If you want to purchase kerchief - if you don't give him ten rupees he won't give you back the handkerchief. If you give him ten rupees he will give you handkerchief. There ends the relationship between the two.

This is temporary relationship. That is bound by conditions. If you offer to God unconditionally, it will be permanent. That is the permanent relationship we should develop. The permanent relationship is not about giving or taking. Giving is your responsibility. Whatever He is going to give - but you can take it later. He will give you more than what you have given.

Oh mind! Don't ask. Oh mind! Don't ask. By merely asking you don't get it. Without being asked don't think that it is

going to be given. Without being asked - has He not rescued Sabari

? Without being asked - has He not done the ritual, the last rites for Jatayu

? Dasaratha prayed and expected that he will spend the last moment with Rama. Dasaratha who prayed for it, did not receive that water from the hands of Rama. Without being asked Sabari is obliged.

Jatayu who did not ask - but that Jatayu ???, "Oh Rama! I offer everything unto You. I don't have anything, mine. Everything is yours." Such people God will say, "You are Mine!" and accept. To such, Jatayu, Rama gave water with His own hand.

Sabari was near that hill Chitrakuta, moving in the forest, chanting Rama's name continuously. What is the service, seva? In every action she thought of the Lord. Sabari is very short. She does not comb her hair. She moves among the shrubs.

Sabari felt, "I am the dwarf. These, these shrubs are touching my head now. Tomorrow Rama who is in exile - with that mighty personality - the same shrubs may touch Him. Therefore, she used to cut all the shrubs.

Being very much tired, Sabari sits on a stone. That stone was rough - rough. "My Rama, my Rama, the Lord who is in exile may be tired, may feel like resting on this stone, which is rough." Meaning, she has taken all her feelings as Rama Feelings. She used to collect fruits.

"Rama is visiting the forest. Out of hunger he may ask any fruit. Which fruit is sweet, which fruit is sour?" She tasted all the fruits ???. Whatever she did, she did with full of love. (Swami: Seva) That is service.

My wealth, my wife, the family, everything offered unto You. The self that is remaining. Oh God, protect. I surrender unto You. Everything is You only. Such sort of mind you should offer to God. Everything He will take care of.

You have on hand money purse. So far you have the money purse you are afraid. Even if you go to hotel you are afraid. If you go to any place you are afraid. You are put in the car, fear. What is to be done? What is to be done to relieve your fear? Deposit this money, the purse, in the bank. Give it to cashier, he will take care of it. You don't need to fear. Move freely.

Similarly, the responsibility you have given, in the bank of grace, God, God is the cashier. In this bank of grace He will take and take care of it. But He is only cashier. He has got on hand crores, but they don't belong to Him. They don't belong to Him, the money. Depositors' - nothing is God's. He will give you back yours. Whatever that is given to Him, good or bad, He gives you only. The things that you keep in the locker - you will receive the same back.

If you keep in the locker bad things you will get that back. You put precious

you will get that back. (Swami: Be good, do good, and see good. This is the way to God) So Swami says, "Be good, do good, see good. This is the way to God." So, we should develop the goodness. Enemies are within us. First we should kill the anger [krodha] and the greed [lobha]. All aspirations should be towards God. Then we will have true bliss.
