The ornaments of hand is verily charity [danam]. The jewel of the throat

is the truth. The ornament to the ear is listening to the sacred texts.

For man it is only charity that is decoration for the hand. Truth is an ornament to the neck. To the ear the sacred text, dhanam

, is the ornament. Beyond this man has none of any other ornaments. An individual wearing these ornaments will be not only the very form of beauty, and will set an ideal to the society.

Body has five elements. Moment to moment it emits foul smell. Where, when, in what point, the body goes, leaves, one cannot say. For this ephemeral, transient, temporary body, the physical ornaments are not the actual ones. Sacred, permanent, truthful ornaments are the only actual ones. Since ancient times human being followed different spiritual practices, earning security and peace for himself. In spite of all wealth, education, position, authority he is not having peace.

Peace [santhi] is available only in the life sheath [pranakosamu] and along the mental plane [manokosamu]. Peace is not seen in the outside world. Peace is contained within the mental sheath. So, when man develops inner vision he can attain peace.

The value of truth lies in our word. Meaning through word we should express truth. Through this body we should do righteous acts. Out of this body comes righteousness [dharmamu]. Out of the mind comes the peace. Word, service [seva], and peace. (Swami: Sathya, dharma, santhi) The truth, righteousness, and peace are the very form of a human being. You don't need to earn righteousness separately. You don't need to go to elders for righteousness.

The inner feelings are expressed outside, that is truth. Truth expressed must be practiced by the body, that is righteousness. The body through righteousness will confer peace to the mind. (Swami: Sathya, dharma, santhi) truth, righteousness, and peace are the trinity. Important. Purifying these three is the main responsibility of man. Truth, righteousness, and peace are the most important responsibilities that are to be discharged by a human being.

Then what is love [prema]? Love comes out of the mental plane and the bliss sheath [anandamayakosamu]. The nature of love that comes out of the mental plane and the sheath of bliss purifies the inner instruments [antah karana]. It flows as an underlying, inner current through truth, righteousness, and peace.

Then what is non-violence [ahimsa]? Non-violence comes out of the sheath of bliss. It comes out of bliss, not through practice. (Swami: Sathya, dharma, santhi, prema, ahimsa) Truth, righteousness, peace, love, and non-violence are the five life principles, are the five life sheaths, are the five elements.

These values are absent in human beings today. Thought that comes through the mind, the word he utters, he conducts

contradictory to that. His words and actions are contradictory. So, full human personality is missing. It is only the wicked in wicked man where there is disharmony between thought, word, and deed. He has the form of a human being, but is not experiencing human values in his daily life. That is the reason why, world is in this trend today.

Every human being the feelings that come out of him - cover, he is trying to cover them up. What is this covering? He obstructs the truth. Not only he obstructs truth, he is not able to practice truth. Man is attracted by falsehood. It has become a practice to see mean, low pictures. It has become a practice to listen to mean gossip. It has become a practice to do cheap things. Because of these practices man is not able to believe truth. Though he has got faith he is not able to practice.

What is human value? Human values are those that will make you travel from the position of I to the position of we. Human values are those that make you travel to the truth to the position to say that, "I am That" [soham]. Inquire clearly how much of sanctity is around this truth. This word truth when it is classified (Swami: Sath-ee-yam) Sath-ee-yam, is sathyam, truth. What do you mean by 'Sath'? Life [pranamu]. 'Ee' meant by what? (Swami: Ahara Mu, Annamu) Food. What is this 'yam', Sun [surya] (Swami: Sath-ee-yam, sathyam) Sath-ee-yam, sathyam. (Swami: Prana, ahara, suryaswarupamulu is sathayam) Truth meant, the life, food, and Sun.

When he has got life in his food - as he needs food. The food is the creation of Sun. Because of sunrays, in the world we find the greenery and the harvest. Sun is the main one for all these results. The food that he

has created, make use of it for the life is the responsibility of man. When we classify by alphabets, three letters Sa-tha-ya, sathya, truth. (Swami: Sa-tha-ya) Sa-tha-ya. If you (Swami: Ya-tha-sa), if you, if you put it in the reverse order Ya-tha-sa. 'Ya' meant, when once he undertakes the spiritual practice his outer discipline and inner disciplines, when he undertakes penance, 'Tha', thapas, then he can see divinity, 'Sa', Sarveswara, God himself. So, 'Ya', yama, niyama, outer and inner disciplines, 'Tha', tapas, penance, then 'Sa' sathyaswarupa, the very form of truth, God.

So, what is it that Yama and Niyama? What do you mean by Yama? It is not the Yama, the God of Death. No! Yama meant, (Swami: ahimsa) Non-violence, (Swami: Sathyamu) truth, (Swami: Asteyamu) Asteya

, (Swami: Brahmacharyamu) celibacy , (Swami: Aparigrahamu) and not to accept anything. All these five are all the yama

.

Then (Swami: Ahimsa) non-violence. What is this non-violence? Is it to hurt a being? Or to make others weep? Are, are these wicked actions, the violence? No! That which is done with the purity of action, thought, word [trikarana suddhi} is non-violence. Through word, mind, and the body - through these things we should not hurt anybody. You should not use words that hurt anyone. With this body you should not harm anybody. Through mind you should not entertain bad thoughts.

So, so purity of mind, purity of body, and purity of word amounts to non-violence [ahimsa]. Not merely purity, the harmony of all the three. This is non-violence.

Then what is truth? That which is not different -

all the three times, past, present, and future - it doesn't change. This is sath, chit, ananda. The one who does not change in all the three times is God alone. So, we call God, as the very form of sath, chit, and ananda. Sath meant, being. Chit meaning, awareness. The combination of these two is the bliss [ananda] of man. Sath is the changeless form of God. He is attributeless throughout. He shines. He has no attributes whatsoever. He has no aberrations whatsoever. He has no nature of any change. There may be change in words, but not in the mind. There may be some change in words or actions. He may pretend as if He is scolding boys, but in the heart He is, there is no anger.

Basing on your feelings you interpret. (To) the one with steady mind, the self [atma] appears pure. How? When there is water, still water, when there is no wind or dirt you see the reflection of the Sun very clearly. The water with the wind, as it moves, the reflection of the Sun also appears to have been moving.

the minds that are wavering, God also appears to have been moving, changing. Know that God doesn't move. It is only in the reflection there is this movement. What is the reason? It is the effect of the wavering mind. Does Sun move? It is because of the pressure of the wind it moves. When water is being tilted you find the reflection also moving.

Then third. Dirty, with all dirty matter the Sun, the Sun also appears to be dirty there. He also appears dirty. Is there dirt in Sun? No! The dirt is in your heart. As your heart is filled with wrong teachings, bad thoughts, bad actions, wicked feelings the heart is filled with all dirt. So, when you take this - you find that God is always pure. God is always steady. God is always peaceful. Your mental feelings are responsible for movement, or for dirt, or steadiness. The one, that does not change on all the three times, past, present, and future, is God.

Then chit. Chit meant full knowledge [paripurna jnana]. I read some text so I am, I have knowledge. I am a great scholar. I am man of wisdom. What is this jnana, knowledge? What is it, that you call wisdom? You consider that wisdom is taking in the essence of all texts. The sacred texts are fractional. Veda are fractions. Upanishads are fractions. Brahma Sutra also minimal. All are minimal, in fraction. But, this is not full wisdom. In the, out of the infinite wisdom present there you have got it, just a subtle bit. This is no wisdom. This is no awareness. When you understand what is awareness, you will understand it is the total knowledge, total wisdom.

When you hold the kerchief like that, when asked, "What is that?" you will say, "Piece of cloth." You become egoistic [ahamkara] because you have come to know that it is a piece of cloth. That is not awareness. (Swami: What is this? This is kerchief) When you unfold it, expand it and ask, "What is that?" "That is kerchief!" Out of that big kerchief, if you know just a bit, can that be full knowledge? You should have the total wisdom.

Only God is the one of wisdom, none else. It is something like infinite space or sky [akasa]. It is infinite ocean. So, what are the signs of infinite ocean and infinite sky? Sky is infinite. Ocean is fathomless. The infinite sky and infinite ocean, what is their color? It is blue in its color. It is fathomless depth. It is very high, infinite, so we call it blue color. One is infinite, another is fathomless depth. So, God has complexion blue color. What do you mean by blue? If He is blue in color at the time of birth He will be kept in exhibition. That is not blue complexion. None can understand His capacities and potentialities. None can understand the depths. So, It is beyond the word for description, beyond the mind for comprehension.

The God who is eternal, that God of wisdom, when we unify both then you will acquire permanent bliss. That is eternal bliss. What do you mean by eternal bliss? It remains as it is, ever blissful. It never declines. To have such bliss we should preserve in our Heart the very form of truth. We should, we should have that blissful thought, that intellect.

When we combine these two, bliss will come out quite naturally. How? Sath, sugar. The quality of sugar is sweetness. Whomsoever may taste it is bound to be sweet. Any healthy person may take this sugar, it is bound to be sweet. If you mix it up in any matter it is sweet. If you mix it with the rice flour is sweet. If you mix it in dhal it is sweet. You may mix it in any flour. So, Upanishads in association with the flour - the rice flour is not sweet, but the preparation out of the rice flour is sweet. Wherefrom you got the sweetness? It is because of association with sugar.

So, in everyone there is love

the clouds don't change your vision. Here Sun is shining. Because of big clouds in between, you don't see Sun. Because he is not seen, can you deny? He is there. As clouds move apart you will see the Sun. (Swami: Passing clouds) So, all clouds are passing. (Swami: Not permanent clouds) None of the clouds are permanent.

Your heart, heart [hridayamu] is sky. The self [atma] is the Sun shining. The mental feelings are the clouds. Thoughts are clouds. Sometimes the clouds are very strong. Out

of these strong feelings you don't see the Sun itself. Then you feel that there is no self. Wait for sometime. Don't be in a hurry. If you are in a hurry the entire future will be filled with the darkness. So, be patient. (Swami: Don't haste) Don't be hasty. (Swami: Haste makes waste) Haste makes waste. (Swami: Waste makes worry) Waste makes worry. (Swami: So, do not be in a hurry) So, do not be in a hurry. Never be hurried.

Wait, that is peace. Do not change your objective. Concentrate, that is prana sakthi. The next one is the power of meditation [dhyana sakthi]. Ultimately, the strength of society. Out of the Ashtanga Yoga, prana sakthi is that, that unwavering vision.

Concentrate on the Sun

. As clouds move you see the Sun. Because the clouds that have appeared do not look down. Without changing the vision, all the matter in creation, experience with the divine feeling. Then, then you will have peace and security. So, in human life the truth, righteousness, love, and peace are not to be valued? (Swami: Annamaya, pranamaya, manomaya, vignanamaya, anandamayakosa) They are present in the sheaths such as: the food, the mind, the bliss, and also supreme knowledge.

(Swami: Santhi) So, so peace comes out of the sheath of life and the sheath of mind. (Swami: Sathyamu) Truth, it comes out of the wisdom, sheath of wisdom. Out of - the dharma comes out of the sheath of food. (Swami: Prema) Love, love is experienced through, along the mental plane. It originates there. (Swami: Ahimsa) Non-violence, it is only the one out of the sheath of bliss.

All the five have become three now. (Swami: Sthula dehamu, sukshma dehamu, karana dehamu) The gross body, the causal body, and astral body. The physical body is gross, the food sheath. Having eaten well, you increase by weight - fifty pounds. If you don't eat, you will also reduce by 20 pounds. Body is like a lorry tire. If you pump it, it will enlarge. It is inert. But you will have doubts. How does this inert body grow? Because it has got the power to increase, it is not inert, you may say. A small example for this.

Daily you sweep in the house. All the dust is kept in the pit. After, after a month the entire, this dirt would collect into a mound. It has increased because - daily you are putting the dust there, therefore it has grown. So, body is also like a pit. Daily idly, sambhar, all the food, the dust, you are filling the pit. For that increase it is not awareness [chaithanya] that is responsible. It is only because of this dust.

So, body is the sheath of food. That is gross [sthula deha]. Then the (third one), next one is pranamaya, the life, the manomaya, the mind, and anandamaya, bliss, is the .. (Swami: Vijnanamaya) vijnanamaya, the wisdom. The combination of these three is the subtle body [sukshma deha) - (causal). What is the astral body? That is sheath of bliss [karana deha]. It, it is the witness for everything.

So, human beings truth, righteousness, peace, love, and non-violence cannot be imported nor exported. They are within us. If you make sincere effort they come out openly. There is nothing in this world which is not present in human being. Everything is within a human being. Divinity is within human life.

We have to recognize in how many forms the divinity is present in human life. It is present in gross body. It is present in subtle body. It is present in causal body. (Swami: Constant integrated awareness) This in called constant integrated awareness. It is changeless. That is, that is awareness, chit. The chit, awareness, is there in our words, in our actions, in our feelings. Without awareness you cannot live for a moment. That awareness is the very form of God. If we understand, investigate, inquire spirituality you will have divine bliss. Tomorrow, tomorrow Swami will speak to us how God dwells in these three forms within the human life.
