Embodiments of love!

Having acquired all forms of knowledge you can conquer the entire congregation of scholars. As a warrior you can fight in the battle field. Being a king yourself you can rule the kingdom. You can also involve in acts of charity by giving freely gold and cow. You can count the stars across the sky. You can also tell the names of the beings. You can learn all the eight forms of yoga. You can reach even Moon. But, no one can remain, having the full control over the body and the senses, remain in a state of equanimity, go in, inward.

At the time of birth he

shall not wear any kind of necklace. There is no pearl. Not even a trace of it. At the time of birth he doesn't bring with him the gold and the diamond. But, yet there is one garland around your neck. What is it? The consequences of your good and bad actions, collecting over past lives. Without out breaking it, the good or bad, God [Brahma] gives you that, that necklace which is heavy. It is a, it is a necklace of all the consequences of your actions [karma].

Embodiments of love! Human body is given to do action [karma]. You have a right on action, but not on the results. It is the responsibility of man to do his activity. Practice is essential. Responsibility is important. You have no authority to fight for rights. When one discharges responsibilities, rights will come automatically. But man today he forgets his responsibilities, he is yearning for authority. So, you should take care of your responsibility. You should never fight for right. When you discharge your responsibility proper, right you will get it right naturally. When there is downpour of rain, river flows naturally. Without rain, how do you expect the river to flow? Pray for the rain - you need not pray for the river. When you do your duty, you will certainly get the reward out of your actions. So, so you have authority over action. What for?

Human society is bound by action. Right from the time of rising from the bed and go to sleep one indulges in action [karma]. This karma does not mean discharging duty. Man cannot live for a moment without action. That which is done with hands and legs is not merely

action. There are not merely

actions done with the hands and legs. There is blood circulation, that is also action. There is our breathing, that is also karma.

What efforts you are doing for inhalation and exhalation? It is breath, it is natural. While sleeping - you may be in the waking state, you may sleep, you may dream, you may walk, you do anything, but your inhalation, exhalation is natural. Will any fool, will tell you that inhalation, exhalation is because of his effort? You make, you make your effort for certain activity. What efforts you are doing for respiration? It is God's will. For heart beating what effort you are doing? It is not in your hands. It is natural divine Action. There is blood circulation. What effort you have put in for blood circulation? This also God's will. The food [ahara] you have eaten is digested. Who gave you that digestive power? This also God does.

(Swami:

Aham vaiswanaro bhutva

Praninam deham asritaha

Pranapana samayuktah

Pacham yannam catur vidham

Bhagavad Gita 15:14)

All the four forms of food I

am digesting. So, man is egoistic [ahamkara] declaring that he has put in a lot of effort, that he is successful, that he would accomplish. For physical, worldly, secular work your effort is necessary. That which is inner - for the sacred, mysterial, historical event, what effort you are doing? Who is doing? (Swami: Isa, Girisa, Naresa, Paresa, Bileeshaya Bhusha Namu Sambasadasiva Sambho Sankara Saranam Meythava Charanayugam) Who is Isa? The one with all (Ais..) Aiswarya is Isa. What do you mean by Aiswarya? Physical, scientific, righteous, dharmic, all this wealth is Aiswarya. He is the Leader of all that. That is - the one who is in different forms of wealth is Iswara. What is Girisa? What is Giri? Many Bharathiyas know. They visit Tirupati. They offer their hair. But what will happen out of that? Do you think God expects your mean hair? You pray God in that mean way. With all high desires they offer mean hair and offer prayer.

It is not the significance in offering hair in Tirupati. Girisa - the head is the Giri

for our body. In this head containing all, the animal quality is dancing (Swami: Thamoguna) Thamoguna, the bestial nature. (Swami: Dullness) Dullness. What is this dullness? What is the form and the mature of dullness? The black color, darkness, ignorance is dullness. This darkness enters into the head only. Offering this dullness, darkness to God - below this dullness and darkness there is pious, white quality. Offer your dullness to God, not the hair on the head. All the age-old good traditions have become the wrong actions.

Third one Naresa. What do you mean by Nara? 'Na', no. 'Raha': it is responsible for the sanctity, humanity. Man is not temporary. Man is not ignorant. Man is not innocent. Na, Raha [ajnana]. Raha, ignorance, Na, no. (Swami: Raha) Raha, (Swami: Papi) Sin, sinner. He is not a sinner. Not only this. The next one, Paresa. What do you mean by Paresa? The spirituality of Lord is Paresa. Para meant, that which is above all. The, that infinity. That which is vast. That, beyond all definition. So, Paresa.

Bileeshena, bilva. There is leaf, bilva. It has three leaflets with a single stalk. This is called bilva leaf. It has got, it has got three attributes [gunam], it solves the sin of all three births. It has got three instruments. The three leaflets are the three attributes. For these three attributes, the basis is one heart [hridaya]. Wholeheartedly, to God offer your three qualities. This is the inner significance.

So, man does action. What is the reward of the actions? You can count on results. All of them are temporary. Getting

from the bed until you go to the bed, for, you struggle for life without any limits. You waste your life. You search, spend time in education, forgetting God. What comfort do you have? What is it that you got? You have learnt. What have you learnt? Merely, in the physical world you are learning the material aspects. To learn the material things why should you make use of your intelligence? You have so many calculations. You do so much work with computer. For having learnt you consider, that you are highly intelligent.

In Telegu it is said, "More than educated man, washer man, dhobi, is better." How? Supposing you put your clothes to dhobi, two pants, two shirts, towel - you write, record in exercise book. Washer man carries with him clothes of many. He does not write it down. Exactly he will return. So, what lot of difference is there between your education and washer man’s? The education it should be general knowledge. But your education is, is bookish knowledge. The bookish knowledge is temporary. That

is Permanent will be imprinted in heart. So, our education is only for a living. It is not for the bliss [ananda] of the Self. Man efforts, struggles for bliss. This is foolishness.

He is the very form of bliss. He yearns, pines for bliss. Being himself the form of bliss, he is in search of bliss. What a foolishness it is. For this sake he struggles, he sacrifices food and drinks. He struggles hard. At the end what is it that he experiences? Man is deluded that there is happiness in education. He is deluded that there is happiness in wealth. He thinks there is happiness. There is no happiness in this.

There are so many mighty kings, they are all full of wealth, power and pelf. Were they not kings, mighty kings, who ruled kingdoms? Where are they? What is it that they experienced? People struggle for bliss. Bliss is only present in spiritual path, nowhere else. So, all our actions, we should offer to please God. We read many texts, we see many great people, we do so many practices, but there is no result at all. Merely, we are heroes in words, and zeros in practice. Millions things can be said, no one does one at least. Easy to say, to do is very difficult. Whom? Either Brahma or his grandfather. For anyone it is not possible. So, we should do, and show. That is true practice.

At one time in a forest deer had a conference. All deer gathered. There the head of the deer got up. He happened to be president of the deer conference. The president said, that they should arrive at a resolution. The first resolution: to what extent we are less then dogs. We can run faster than dogs. Dogs are non-vegetarians. We are vegetarians. The strength that we have in our legs is not present all over the body of the dog. We lead a sacred life. After our death saints make use of our skin to do penance. But will anyone make use of a dog's skin? Will a dog possess that strength? Does it possess that sanctity? Dogs are not as fast as we are. With all the strength and power why should we be afraid of dogs?" That is the first point for discussion.

Why should we be afraid? Not necessary. That is what they resolved. Many deer joined and proposed a vote of thanks. In this resolution passed: "Through, from tomorrow we shall not be afraid of dogs. The reason, we have got such power. Sanctity. Not only this, even the skin of our body has got the sanctity. Under these circumstances why should we feel afraid of dogs? Having resolved so, they are blissful and happy.

A hunter was bringing dogs along with him, and one dog barked loudly. On listening to the sound of the barking of that dog, deer started running. The entire dais is empty. Where have they gone? What is the resolution? Why do they have fear in practice? This is the nature in the present world. There are so many conferences, so many meetings, so many meetings, there is all resolutions, but in matter of practical field it is a zero. The spiritual field should not be like that. (Swami: The proper study of mankind is man) So, man, Swami says, so Swami says, "There should be perfect harmony between thought, word, and action." This is the first step in the spiritual path.

What is the second step? Each one should inquire for oneself, "Who am I?" (Swami: I am man) I am man. But he, he is satisfied with that? No! (Swami: I am man - half truth) When we say, "I am man" it is only half truth. What is the other half? (Swami: I am not animal) I am not animal. (Swami: I am man) I am man (Swami: Not animal) Not animal. (Swami: I am man) I am man (Swami: Not animal) Not animal. When we join these two halves we have full Truth. (Swami: Ekam sath viprah bahuda vadanthi) Only one that exists, not the second. (Swami: Truth is one, not two) Truth is one, not two. When two join, it becomes one.

So, when bad thoughts come, immediately you should start inquiring, what are human values and animal values? Am I the body [deha]? Am I the mind [manas]? Am I senses? Am I the intellect [buddhi]? Am I inner instruments [antah karana]? Put that question yourself, third (c: thrice) (Swami: This is my body) Then put a question and say, "This is my body." (Swami: My body means, you are separate from body) When you say, "My body", you are separate from body. (Swami: My mind, mind is separate from body) You say, " My mind", mind is separate from my

. (Swami: This is my kerchief) This is my kerchief. (Swami: Kerchief is separate from me) Kerchief, separate from me. (Swami: My body, body is separate from me) When you say, "My body", body is separate from me. (Swami: But who am I?) Then who am I? Here you put yourself a question.

In small things in daily routine, when we question ourselves we will understand that eternal truth, divinity. (Swami: I am not the body) So, we are not the body. (Swami: I am not the mind) I am not the mind. (Swami: I am not the senses) I am not the senses. (Swami: I am I) I am I. (Swami: Tat twam asi) Tat Twam asi. That thou art, is not Non-duality. It is not Non-duality. (Swami: Aham Brahmasmi) Aham Brahmasmi, I am Brahman, not non-duality. (Swami: I am Brahman. I and Brahman, there is two) When you say, "I am Brahman. I and Brahman, there are two. (Swami: Two, two is not truth) Two is not truth. That is not non-dualism. (Swami: I am I) So, you should say, " I am I." That is non-dualism. Meaning you are you.

(Swami: Body is like a water bubble) Body is like a water bubble. (Swami: Mind is like a mad monkey) Mind is a mad monkey. (Swami: Don't follow the mind) Don't follow the mind. (Swami: Don't follow the body) Don't follow the body (Swami: Follow the Conscience) Follow the conscience. That is what the spiritual thing you should do. Follow your heart [hridaya] in the spiritual field. Heart meant, not physical heart. (Swami: Spiritual heart) It is spiritual heart. Where is this? It is present everywhere. What do you mean by body? Body is the temple and the individual is eternal God. Body is the temple of God. This body is a temple. What sort of a temple? (Swami: It is a moving temple) It is a moving temple. The body, wherever it moves, there is God. So, where is God now? He is everywhere. Wherever your body moves there is God.

So, you cannot decide that God is here and God is there. So, Bhagavad Gita says, "He has got His ... ." Wherever your feet walk, there is God. God is all-pervasive. He is all-powerful. He is omniscient. As our vision is narrow we are not able to understand. We say that we are put to suffering by world. World has not put you to suffering. You are making the world suffer. This, is said in the Bible also. There it is said, "The devotee is in search of God." This is not correct. What is the fun of the devotee searching God? When God is everywhere why should you search? Where do you search? This is not right. In fact, God is in search of a devotee. Where a good devotee? Where a true devotee? Where steady faith? Where bhaktha, devotee? God is in fact in search of a true devotee.

So, it is untruth, it is false, when we say that, "The devotee is in search of God." God in fact is in search of a true devotee. So, we need not search for God. He is Indweller in heart. He is present in your mind, around you, outside, in you is God. So, God is all-pervasive, within you, around you, below you, above you. (Swami: In you, with you, above you, below you, around you) He is with you, above you, around you. (Swami: You are also God) You are also God. You are God. Being God enter into divine activity. It is not enough if you think that you are God. You should develop divine feelings. I say, "I am God", do demonic actions. How is it possible? No! (Swami: I am man) I am man. (Swami: Not animal) Not animal. (Swami: Anger, ego, jealousy, hatred ... animal qualities) Anger, jealousy, hatred, greed, they are animal qualities. (Swami: Truth, compassion, love, sacrifice, the ones are human qualities) Truth, compassion, love, sacrifice are human qualities. You develop these human qualities, then you are man. (Swami: Ma-na-va is Manava) Three letters here: Ma, Na, Va, is Manava, human being. What is the meaning? (Swami: Manava, manava, manava) We say, "Human being, human being, Manava, Manava."

I have gone through books. I have seen complete texts. I have learnt a lot. Do not pride yourself. Join both of your hands. If you don't pray God wholeheartedly. Oh man, all this education is just a waste. Oh man, what do you mean by Manava? (Swami: Ma) Ma, No! (Swami: Na). Na, the ignorance [ajnanamu]. (Swami: Ma) Ma, (Swami: Ma-na-va) Ma-na-va, the one who conducts himself without ignorance. 'Ma' [ajnanamu], ignorance. 'Na', without. 'Va', who conducts himself. Manava meant, the one who conducts himself without ignorance. That is true meaning. Basing on this meaning, when we lead a true life, in all aspects of life God will be after you, with you, around you, and will protect you. So, having been born as a human, you should never lead the life of an animal.

To get away from the animal quality, we do practices [sadhana]. What do you mean by spirituality [adhyatmika]? Killing the animal quality within us is spiritual field. This is true spirituality. Doing japa, meditation [dhyana], yoga, yagna, in spite of all - with our doing all this, when there are animal qualities within us all will be a waste. So, we should have sacred human values. A vessel with the ten holes, in spite of downpour of rain, all the water will drain out.

This is body. It is a body with nine holes. It is not a gem studded vessel. Minute to minute it emits a foul smell, not aroma and fragrance. Such a body, it is weak. When you

die, nobody can say. They have put a limit hundred years, but don't believe that. Either boyhood, or youth, old age, or old age. Either in town, or forest, or in water, where you are going to die? Death is certain. So long you have the body - know God. So long you are alive realize divinity, for that sacred human life is gifted. The sacred human life, to make it sacred we should develop right qualities. We should develop qualities proportionate to God.

What are the divine qualities. (Swami: Nirgunam) Attribute less. (Swami: Niranjanam) Shining. (Swami: Sanathanam) Ancient. (Swami: Niketanam) eternal, pure, unsullied. Not only this. (Swami: Sabdabramamayi) He is the very sound.(Swami: Charaacharamayi) Mobility. (Swami: Jyothirmayi) Light. (Swami: Vaangmayi) The word. (Swami: Nithyanandamayi) The eternal bliss. (Swami: Parathparamayi) God. (Swami: Mayamayi) Illusion. (Swami: Srimayi) All wealth. Out of so many divine qualities of God are we practicing at least one. You don't need to put into practice all that is said - at least one. We listen and go.

In Bhojaraja's court, one sculptor, in Bhojaraja's court one sculptor brought three idols. Bhojaraju said, "Minister, judge which is the best of all the three." That minister brought iron rod. Into the ear of one statue he pierced the iron rod. When the iron rod is pierced in one ear it came out through another ear. "Keep it aside." He examined second statue. When it is put into one ear, it came out through the mouth. "Keep it aside." Third statue he looked at. He has put in the rod into the ear. It has gone in. "King, this statue is most valuable." "What reason you said so?" "That statue it listens with one ear and leaves with another ear. No, it is bad. The second statue listens with the ear, repeats with the mouth. That is gas. It is all gas. No value. For the third one. What all that is heard with the ear, goes in. So, it is most valuable."

So, what all that is heard, must get into the heart. If you put into the heart at one time or other you can develop. That which enters in the heart,

the photograph - negative. If you have negative any time you can make number of copies. If you get into the head, that which is in the head is polaroid picture. You can not bring out copies out of polaroids. Be a negative. Out of that you can bring out any number of copies. Take it to heart. This spirituality, when we understand clearly, spirituality is taught in the world in different styles, leading to confusion to everybody. Those that teach, they teach for selfish interest. They struggle for their name and reputation. They are not recognizing the welfare of the society.

Aspirants [sadhaka] with mountainous desires, they should not be misled. God is one in everyone. (Swami: What is the way to God?) What is the way to God? First you should know. When you know that, what is the best way? (Swami: Removal of immoralities) Removal of immoralities, (Swami: Is the only way to immortality) that is the only way to Immortality. Not only this (Swami: The best way to love God, is to love all, serve all) The best way to love God, is to love all, and serve all. Because God is present in everyone. (Swami: Love all) Love all. (Swami: Serve all) Serve all.

Such subtleties are in plenty. No one is teaching that easy path. So, devotees, they are confused. They lose the fuse all together. Confusion gives scope for doubts. Because of doubts faith [viswasa] declines. Real spirituality will give no scope for doubts. So, never give scope for doubts. Faith, faith is our life breath. When there is no viswasa, or faith, there is no swasa, the breath, it is dead body. (Swami: Faith, faith, faith) Faith, faith. That is Self-confidence. Next the self-satisfaction. When you have satisfaction you will do self-sacrifice. Where there is self-sacrifice there will be self-realization. (Swami: Self-realization) Self-realization. (Swami: Self-confidence is the foundation) So, self-confidence is the foundation. (Swami: Self-satisfaction is the wall) Self-satisfaction is the wall. (Swami: Self-sacrifice is the roof) Self-sacrifice is the roof. (Swami: Self-realization is life) Self-realization is the life. So, we should have confidence in the first instance. Developing this self-confidence is love [prema]. Where there is no love, nothing you can achieve. So...
